1. What we collect

VidRip collects the following information when you use the Service:

• Your IP address — recorded automatically every time you visit the site.
• Download activity — when you download a file, we record your IP address together with the video you downloaded and the format you chose (for example "MP4 720p" or "MP3").
• Video links you paste — sent to a third-party conversion service to fetch download links.
• Basic technical data — browser type (user agent) and timestamps, logged alongside the records above.

We do not require accounts, names, or email addresses. We keep these records so we can comply with lawful requests from authorities and protect the Service from abuse.

2. Cookies

The Service itself does not set tracking cookies. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may set strictly necessary cookies required for the site to function and stay secure.

3. Third-party services

Video conversion is performed by third-party APIs (accessed via RapidAPI). When you submit a link, the video ID is shared with those services to produce your download. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.

Visit and download records (IP address, video, format, timestamp) are stored in a private channel on Discord, whose handling of that data is governed by Discord's own privacy policy.

4. Data retention and disclosure

Visit and download records are retained in our private log for as long as needed to meet legal obligations and protect the Service. We may disclose these records to law enforcement or other authorities when we are legally required to do so, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal process or protect rights, property, or safety. We do not sell your data.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal data we hold about you (such as records tied to your IP address). Contact us and we will address the request promptly, subject to any legal obligation to retain records.

6. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
